Big Brother 9 is Under way!
The day has arrived and Big Brother 9 is in full force. Here are the contestants:Adam Jisinski

Big Brother 9 Episode #1 Recap
February 12th, 2008
The show begins with Julie mentioning “Showmance” taking on a whole new meaning. The announcer teases the show - giving the basics of the game. implying there is no outside contact. He also says ‘until one houseguest remains to claim the 1/2 million dollars” So I guess it is only ONE winner.
Now Julie shows all the HGs getting their keys - yay rah. Shelia says she will miss her son. Jacob is shown praying. Natalie serving coffee in a bikini. Note all these reaction shots are set up - don’t think they are spontaneous.
5 minutes in and they are all still spouting off catch phrases. Amanda wants to come across as the spoiled girl that gets what she wants.
Julie explains that Big Brother is playing cupid. The HGs will do everything as couples (ed - at least to start- I think they might change it later).
Ladies come out to enter the house. Natalie, Jen, Allison and Shelia enter the house first. They are unable to get into the two back bedrooms - they are all locked. The other four girls enter the house and start to realize they are all ’single’ (well sorta).
Julie reveals that Sharon’s Ex (Jacob) will be in the house with her. Turns out Jacob cheated on Sharon and that is why it ended. They both say the other was the ‘love of their life.’
Jen will be paired up with Ryan. They have been set up as a team. They want to play the game as total strangers (shocking…. not).
The men come out to enter the house. 9 in all (since 2 are gay and will be paired up).
Ryan, Adam, Parker, Alex and Joshua enter the house. The girlsgreet them and Parker in the Diary Room (DR) says that he thinks Jen is the hottest.
The other 4 men enter the house, Jacob and Sharon spot each other and they are both obviously affected by it. Sharon says that she has to get rid of him (in the Diary Room).
–Commercial–
The HGs discuss the ‘love quotes’ all over the house. They all talk about being ’single.’ The guys all introduce themselves.
Allison announces she can be called “Ali” - in the DR she says she will not tell everyone she is professional gambler. Matt seems to have a comment for every women (in the DR).
The intro’s continue, nothing really strikes me that we don’t already know so pardon me for skimming over it.
Alex does say in the DR that he owns his business but tells the HGs he just works for one (like Kail did last year).
Julie reveals to the HGs that this is a couples version. They are being matched up with their ‘perfect match.’ They all ooooo and ahhhhh.
Julie says everything will be done as couples, “til death do you part” including sleeping with them. In the DR Ryan is very worried as is Jen that they won’t be paired up.

Julie pairs everyone up - they must claim a bed as soon as they are paired up.

Jean and Parker (YES!!! HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAA)
Joshua and Neil (well DUH)
Jacob and Sharon
Julie announces all the beds are taken and the remaining couples will have sleeping bags.
Ryan and Allison
Shelia and Adam (Shelia says she is not happy).
Jacob tries to talk with Sharon and it is obvious that she is NOT happy at all. In the DR it is obvious that she is not over the cheating he did.
Shelia is upset still, Adam keeps calling her ‘Ma’ which is ticking her off. She is complaining to James about him when he walks bye (Adam is a smoker it seems - a no no for Shelia).
My guess is Adam and Sheila will be up on the block with someone else very shortly.
They continue to show the conflict between Shelia and Adam and then we see her crying in the DR. fade to ….

Competition time.
First Head of Household competition. Except they win the right to evict another couple. No vote - just kicked out (I SOOO said a couple would be out the first night).
HGs head to the backyard, they find 8 beds. “Falling for you” is the competition. One must be suspended and the other will hold on to the suspended person. Once the lower partner lets go and falls, they are named the ‘Power Couple’ and get to evict one of the other couples (no vote). The suspension begins.
Shelia quits early. Adam is eliminated as her partner.
Neil and Joshua out next.
Next eliminated - Alex and Amanda.
Then down went Sharon and Jacob.
Half the couples out.
Julie then reveals that if one of the four remaining couples can grab the heart shaped pillow on their bed AND win the competition, they will win $10,000. We then watch as they try to reach for the pillows and we are left wondering as they cut to…
–Commercial–
Jen manages to grab her pillow. Allison grabs hers but then drops it and ends up falling. Allison and Ryan are eliminated.
Chelsia and James get their pillow.
Natalie and Matt decide not to go for theirs.
Chelsia drops off - James is eliminated.
Jen promises Matt and Natalie that they are safe. Natalie drops.
Jen and Parker are the first ‘Power Couple’ - they win $10,000 and will get to vote someone out of the house. Julie says they have a few hours to decide.

Show is over - see who is evicted tomorrow on the Wednesday show.
